Team Orrin Woodward- MEDIA WAR!
by
Orrin Woodward
on Fri 31 Mar 2006 10:00 AM EST
It looks like Orrin Woodward and the Team aren't the only ones battling the Media War! Here is an article describing exactly what, where, and how the Media War is being waged.

March 22, 2006

Bush has lost his momentum, Americans' support for the Iraq war is dwindling, and opposition to Bush policies is hardening. That's according to a recent New York Times/CBS News poll being covered as if it were a real news story.
Like callers to talk radio claiming to be Republicans angry with Republicans, liberals love to pretend public opinion is always in the process of shifting in their direction. They can't win elections — Democrats have gotten a majority vote in a national election only two times since FDR was president (Lyndon Johnson in '64 and Jimmy Carter in '76). But they're always experiencing an upswing in the polls.
Clinton could never get a majority of Americans to vote for him but, according to the polls, as soon as the public found out about his sex romps with Monica, his support shot up to above 80 percent. Bush did get a majority of the country to vote for him less than two years ago. Now we're told 70 percent of Americans hate the man.
Indeed, according to the polls, the public's feeling about the war in Iraq began three years ago with fear, skepticism and dread — and steadily went downhill.
If these poll results were accurate, support for the war should be about negative 3,000 percent by now. The public would have stormed the White House, seized the president and flogged him to death.
Here's a sample of New York Times headlines on stories discussing poll numbers since before the Iraq war began in March 2003:
— Poll Finds Most in U.S. Support Delaying a War (2/14/03)
— Opinions Begin to Shift as Public Weighs Costs of War (3/26/03)
— World's View of U.S. Sours After Iraq War, Poll Finds (6/4/03)
— Study Finds Europeans Distrustful of U.S. Global Leadership (9/4/03)
— Despite Polls, Pataki Backs Bush on Iraq All the Way (10/3/03)
— Poll Finds Hostility Hardening Toward U.S. Policies (3/17/04)
— Support for War Is Down Sharply, Poll Concludes (4/29/04)
— Rising Casualties, One Falling Poll (5/2/04)
— Polls Show Bush's Job-Approval Ratings Sinking (5/14/04)
— Bush's Rating Falls to Its Lowest Point, New Survey Finds (6/29/04)
And then — despite the fact that every single man, woman and child in America opposed the war in Iraq and despised George Bush — a few months later, Bush won re-election against well-respected war hero John Kerry.
Immediately after the election, public opinion polls showed Americans turning once again against the war and against George Bush, according to the Times:
— Americans Show Clear Concerns on Bush Agenda (11/23/04)
— Public Voicing Doubts on Iraq and the Economy, Poll Finds (1/20/05)
— Bad Iraq War News Worries Some in GOP on '06 Vote (8/18/05)
— Support for Bush Continues to Drop as More Question His Leadership Skills, Poll Shows (9/15/05)
— Iraq's Costs Worry Americans, Poll Indicates (9/17/05)
— Most Americans Find Cindy Sheehan Attractive, Interesting (2/8/06). OK, I made that one up. The rest were made up by the Times.
The media are constantly telling Americans what they believe: You are dissatisfied ... You are getting more dissatisfied ... You are slowly becoming utterly dissatisfied ... Your dissatisfaction is now reaching a fever pitch!
News coverage of public opinion polls is barely justifiable in an election year. When there's no horse race, these cooked-up polls are nothing more than the mainstream media's long, monotonous brainwashing of the public.
At least the old subliminal ads for popcorn in movie theaters operated by stealth. Today's mainstream media engage in open conditioning of the public in a fantastical scheme to shift public opinion.
Noticeably, there's always an odd disconnect between what the polls say and what people actually do.
Despite the fact that — according to the polls — the "American people" are fed up with the war Iraq, only a few hundred anti-war protesters showed up in New York City last weekend. The naked cowboy in Times Square gets a bigger crowd than that.
Despite the fact that polls show the public is ready to throw in the towel on Iraq, members of the House of Representatives, or "the people's house," recently voted 403-3 against withdrawing the troops.
Despite the fact that 70 percent of the public thinks Bush is doing a lousy job, when they had a chance to put someone else in the White House a mere 15 months ago, they decided to keep him.
There is, however, one poll taken by millions of Americans every day, year in, year out. Based on plummeting viewers, circulation numbers and ad rates, we can say with some certainty, the American people are beginning to loathe the liberal media.

That is why I appreciate Orrin Woodward and the Team so much: They provide the information, motivation, and resources that enable and empower people to educate themselves enough to be able to think critically and see beyond the hype and sensationalism of the liberal media. And then, the Team System goes even further in developing leaders who can, in turn, develop more leaders which has an exponential influence on the increased intellegence of the American people. One person can make a difference. What have you done today to pay it forward and influence the reclaimed greatness of our culture?

Team Orrin Woodward- Winston Churchill's Wisdom & Wit I

"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference."
Winston Churchill
Attitude by: Rev. Charles Swindoll, Source Unknown
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, then circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say, or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.
Thanks to the Team and to Orrin Woodward for being the example of choosing our attitude.

"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to success is more important than any other one thing."
Abraham Lincoln
Some say success is just a decision away. That may be true on the surface, but as the incredible results of Orrin Woodward and the Team demonstrate, that decision must be backed up with solid effort. Orrin has said that a person with a winning attitude and a commitment to persevere accounts for 80 percent of the results in this country today. What’s amazing is that the figures don’t change from year to year. They stay pretty much the same. Twenty percent of the people get 80 percent of the results while the other 80 percent are only getting 20 percent of the results. Orrin and the Team know that the difference in producing 80% results is the decision backed up with the solid effort. Your growth potential, the return on your investment, your rewards in proportion to your efforts, and your personal independence are limited only by your vision and determination. Decide, engage, and resolve to succeed. Have a fever for success!

Team Orrin Woodward- Thought Leadership

Here's an interesting quote from Bill Gates that seems to be getting a lot of attention lately.

Quote of the day: Gates:
Bring on Google
March 21, 2006 10:16 AM PST
During an interview with CNET News.com, following his Mix '06 keynote address, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates said his company is poised to take on Google.
"In terms of thought leadership, if someone said who's cool right now, obviously, Google would be high on the list there," Gates said, later adding, "Not many people are brave enough to compete with something with that kind of scale and momentum. Well, we are."
Click here for full newsmaker interview.
Google may be 'cool' right now, but so are we Bill, so are we. And the Team has the leadership to help many, many other people succeed along with us. Not just the people at the top of the corporate pyramidical structure, like Google and Microsoft, but all the people that have goals and dreams and aspirations of their own that have helped Google and MS to the top. Now it's time for them to begin helping themselves reach their goals and dreams. The Team subscribes to the type of business success that is built upon helping other people succeed in the process. Orrin Woodward and the Team system have the necessary tools, information, and business model to excel in every area of B2C eCommerce helping other people realize their goals and dreams.

"You can not fail in any laudable object, unless you allow your mind to be improperly directed."
Abraham Lincoln
You may have been programmed to be negative, to disbelieve, to be skeptical... but, you can change. Orrin Woodward and the Team have taught that those negative experiences- the minuses- can be transformed into positives and pluses simply by changing your attitudes. Orrin has quoted William James who said, “The greatest discovery of my generation is that men can change their circumstances by changing their attitude of mind.” The Team has taught and duplicated thousands of times over that changing the input can change those thoughts. What goes in, good or bad, must come out, good or bad. What are you putting in?
Through the Team system, Orrin Woodward has taught the importance of staying focused on your purpose. Distractions are destructive forces that ruin production. A true business entrepreneur realizes that all distractions are created equal (good ones and/or bad ones)--they all are simply distractions and they can prevent you from achieving your financial success! Focusing on where you intend to go, what you plan to achieve, and organizing your own life so that you are not distracted, boosts your productivity and your results.
You can control the future because you have the power to control your thoughts.

“Success isn't measured by money or power or social rank. Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace.”
Ditka must have read John Wooden’s definition of success: "Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming."
John Wooden coined his own definition of success. By the standards of the Basketball Hall of Fame, his own success is unique. He is the only person in history to be enshrined there twice, once as a player for Purdue University, and again for his performance as coach of the UCLA Bruins. Orrin Woodward has adopted a similar definition of success and through the Team, has developed and provided the vehicle capable of equipping literally anyone who chooses to achieve the peace of mind in knowing you are becoming the best you can while pursuing a worthwhile goal or dream. Thanks Ditka. Thanks Coach Wooden. And thanks Orrin, for showing us that greatness lies within each and every one of us.

Team Orrin Woodward- Broadband Widens the Path
by
Orrin Woodward
on Fri 17 Mar 2006 10:07 AM EST
Not only does the number of people getting online keep growing, but the number of people using broadband is growing at a rate that is keeping pace with B2C e-commerce growth itself. Twenty-eight percent growth over the past year bodes well for Orrin Woodward and the Team players. The tide continues to rise for those whose ship is on the e-commerce waters and the Team is leading the pack with its specialized leadership development System.

Two-Thirds of US Web Users Now On Broadband
MARCH 16, 2006 A recent Comcast television commercial for its broadband services shows two turtles discussing the attributes of dial-up. These creatures may soon be the only non-broadband users left.
According to Nielsen//NetRatings, the number of active US broadband users from home increased by 28% last year, rising from 74.3 million in February 2005 to 95.5 million in February 2006.
While overall Internet penetration in the US has stabilized over the past few years, reaching 74% of households in February 2006, broadband penetration has risen steadily over the past four years.
From February 2003 to February 2004, US broadband users as a percentage of Internet users grew by 12 percentage points, and in February 2005 it increased another 10 percentage points. This year broadband users as a proportion of all Internet users increased an impressive 13 percentage points over the previous February, as 68% of all US Internet users reportedly connected via broadband.
As broadband penetration increases, so does the average time users spent on their PCs. That's because with faster connections users are devoting more time to online photos, audio and video sites — which previous required slow downloads. Since February 2003, the average PC time per person among active Web users has increased approximately five hours from 25.5 hours a month to 30.5 hours a month.
"The correlated growth in average PC time per person is the result of broadband users' greater satisfaction with their online experience," said Jon Gibs of Nielsen//NetRatings. "The 'always on' nature of a broadband connection allows the Internet to become more entrenched in consumers' lives."
With increased broadband penetration, Nielsen//NetRatings reports a growing trend toward accessing streaming media online at video sharing sites.
MSN Video garnered 9.3 million unique visitors in February 2006, growing 44% over the previous year. YouTube and Google Video grew from relative obscurity to substantial players, and iFilm and Yahoo's video search saw triple digit year-over-year growth.

“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle. “
Abraham Lincoln
The Team knows that there is no secret of success. It is all related to hard work. One must climb the ladder to success, not just be lifted on an elevator. Orrin Woodward has demonstrated that the successful individual is the one who will do what the average person will not do. Through the Team system, Orrin has taught this principle and has equipped others who have then, as a result, utilized those principles and have achieved levels of success not otherwise attainable. Thinking wrong, believing wrong, and talking wrong always lead to an unhappy, mediocre, and unprofitable way of life. To think success, to become better, to believe bigger, and to strive to be above-average, you must develop the right kind of mental processes. That is exactly what Orrin and the Team strive to teach and share with others- those who are willing to pursue ‘better’ because they know it is available. So let’s hustle, and leave average to those who wait.

“The ones who want to achieve and win championships, motivate themselves.”
It begins with accepting responsibility for not only where I’m at right now, but more importantly, where I’m going to be. All successful people understand that it begins with self. We must become a Self Starter: That’s the Great Separator.
Ben Franklin said, “To Succeed, jump as quickly at opportunities as you do at conclusions.”
Orrin Woodward and the Team have created a business model and a system that empowers people to accept responsibility for where they are and to take advantage of the most powerful and profitable trends in the world today to determine their own destiny. Team Orrin Woodward- Lessons From Lincoln VI
by
Orrin Woodward
on Mon 13 Mar 2006 07:04 PM EST

"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built."
Abraham Lincoln
Good-ole-Abe has a lesson for us: there can be no success without hard work. Success comes to those who labor after it. I know of no one who had success come to them. You must go to success by doing that which is required to have success. And when you step out and begin reaching for and taking the fruits of your labor, let not him who is lazy or complacent distract you from your goal and your purpose. Only those not willing to strive and labor for 'property' wind up 'houseless' for they certainly have the equal opportunity to become unequal in results by laboring diligently and building for himself.
Just as Orrin Woodward and the Team have endured, those who toil upward attract uninvited scrutiny on all they do as a result of their undaunted dedication to achieve. To dare to stand apart from the crowd, to embark on an uncharted course, to risk everything by stricing for greatness– opens one up to green-eyed interpretation and not so unexceptional ridicule. The Team system empowers and equips us to pursue better; to reach beyond our current position and dream of great. It provides us with the armor to protect against the onslaught of average and arms us with the weapons to attack mediocrity. Thank you Orrin for the tools with which to combat complacency.
For the true entrepreneur, it is risk that fuels the fires that create focus and a commitment to prove what is right. For high-achievers, risk fans the flame of passion, which, in the end, is what separates them from those who are destined to sit, uncomfortably, on the sidelines – having already put away their dreams and aspirations in exchange for reality-TV and cynical attacks on those who dangerously venture into the unpredictable living rooms of America (and Canada… Oh yeah, the Bahamas too). You got to have a fever … a fever for success.

Tem Orrin Woodward- USMC Leadership Principles

Orrin Woodward

It is exciting to be a part of a Team of people that exemplifies the very same leadership principles that our own United States Marine Corps believes to be solid enough to make their own. Orrin Woodward has incorporated the very same virtues into the Team business strategy and system to insure that everyone has a level playing field to become part of the greatest business opportunity and to achieve significant accomplishments that an individual may not otherwise have a chance to even attempt. As a Team, we have the potential to compound our efforts and results and become more than we ever could alone. John Maxwell says that the number one is too insignificant a number to achieve greatness. Being a part of a fantastic group of people like those leaders on the Team, is a priviledge we can all appreciate. Thanks Orrin Woodward for being the example of leadership in its truest form.

“If you are determined enough and willing to pay the price, you can get it done.”
Isn’t that really the definition of success in any endeavor?
What do you want… what is the price… pay it! Success, victory, or achievement, however you define it, fundamentally comes down to what is that thing-ideal-dream you want, what does it take to obtain or realize it, and are you willing to do what it takes? Orrin Woodward and the Team have learned, implemented, mastered, and taught that very principle indeed.
Define – Learn – DO! You just have to be willing to start.

"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."
Abraham Lincoln
Hard work is the common denominator in the achievement of any worthy accomplishment. In creating a dynamically powerful system with the Team, Orrin Woodward toiled upward through many long and arduous difficulties of trial and error. The Team’s proven, time-tested and duplicatable model is a vehicle with which anyone can genuinely achieve success to whatever degree their heart can dare to believe is possible. Orrin Woodward has lead the way and has helped countless others achieve more success than they ever thought possible. The process of change and growth through consistent persistent effort is the labor through which the capital is obtained. Labor intently toward your goals and the fruit shall be yours for the picking.

“I guess I should warn you, if I turn out to be particularly clear, you've probably misunderstood what I've said.”
-Alan Greenspan
This has to be one of my all time favorites. Humor from an individual who is arguably the most powerful man in the world because he holds what is probably the most powerful position in the world. After reviewing the Greenspan Series, perhaps we can take comfort in knowing that the man who holds that spot thinks the way he does.
Orrin Woodward and the Team have shown that the simplest systems are the most effective & most productive. Orrin has always said, “Major on the majors.” The majors are always fundamental principles that produce results every time. Clear communication is a big one. A clear vision for the overall Team that gives direction and purpose for each team within it will provide clear direction for goals of the players on the Team. Dale Carnegie has written Ten Common Sense Rules for Human Relations:
1 Speak to people. There’s nothing as nice as a cheerful greeting.
2 Smile at people. It takes 112 muscles to frown and only 13 to smile.
3 Call people by their name. The sweetest music to the ears is ones own name.
4 Be friendly and helpful. Radiate friendship and it will be returned tenfold.
5 Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything you did were a pleasure.
6 Be genuinely interested in people.
7 Be generous with praise, cautious with criticism.
8 Be considerate with the feelings of others; it will be appreciated.
9 Be thoughtful of others opinions. There are three sides to every controversy- yours, the others- and the right one.
10 Be alert to give service. What counts a great deal in life is what we do for others.
Sound advice from another extremely influential, productive, successful individual who knew how to communicate.
The entries of this journalistic blog are intended to be particularly clear- understanding is the point.
Thanks to Orrin, success on the Team can be simple as well.

E-commerce Penetration on the Rise › › › Retailing
By Robyn Greenspan | February 25, 2004
Congratulations are in order for the e-commerce industry, as the Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce found that year-over-year online retail sales were up by more than 25 percent. The preliminary figures revealed that e-commerce accounted for 1.9 percent of total retail sales in the fourth quarter of 2003, resulting in revenues of more than $17.2 billion.
The retail industry as a whole performed very well during 2003, with second and third quarter figures coming close and surpassing the Q4 2002 total — the time of year when sales are at their peak. With the U.S. Department of Commerce estimating that total retail sales for Q4 2003 would be roughly $918.2 billion, it is very likely that the industry will break $100 billion over the coming year.
Patti Freeman Evans, an analyst with Jupiter Research (a unit of this site's corporate parent) expects the portion of retail sales that can be attributed to the e-commerce influence will continue to climb. "The Internet continues to grow as a percent of total retail and we project it reaching 5 percent by 2008. Still small, but that is partially due to some very large categories not achieving high penetration — grocery is the big example here."
"Also, that five year projection does not say that we believe the penetration will stop there, don't think so but not projected out further," continued Freeman Evans.
Research has shown that even when items are not actually purchased online, the Internet plays a valuable role. "...the influence of online to offline purchases continues to grow. Where by 2008 nearly 30 percent of all offline purchases will have been influenced by research done online. So the simple figure of online sales is not the true measure of the value and impact of online," said Freeman Evans.

"Home improvement, housewares, personal care products will have the fastest growth over the next five years. Online sales of large appliances and furniture are still very small percent of total sales in their categories so the percent growth was high on a small base. Over the next 5 years, we [Jupiter Research] project them to grow at about 25 percent CAGR," said Freeman Evans.

“I don't think anything is unrealistic if you believe you can do it.”
Q. Do I have to believe in what I am doing in order to be successful at it?
A. The power of belief is the stuff of legend. Ditka believes it. When we believe in a vision, we have the energy to keep pursuing it. We do what it takes to help bring the vision to life. As Orrin Woodward and the Team have shown, the bottom line is - you have to think it before you can achieve it. Prosperity is a state of mind. Change your beliefs and you'll change your life. It is because of your belief system that you are where you are in life right now. You have created your success or failure with the beliefs that you have established within yourself. But either way, only you can answer the real question: Do you need belief to feel successful? And if the answer is "yes," what are you waiting for?

Shoppers Show Rising Satisfaction with Web Shopping
FEBRUARY 27, 2006 More and more shoppers are parking in front of their computers instead of at the mall.
According to the annual American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) E-Commerce Report from ForeSee Results, customer satisfaction with the e-commerce sector improved by 1.3% in 2005 to an aggregate score of 79.6. It should be noted, however, that even with this increase, customer satisfaction with the e-commerce sector is still more than a point lower than it was two years ago, when the aggregate score was 80.8.
As the sector matures, customers' standards for e-commerce sites continue to rise, which means that online companies must struggle to keep up with both industry leaders and high customer expectations. But the pressure seems to be creating a better online shopping experience, at least on leading sites.
"Some companies have really figured out how to take customer satisfaction to the next level," said Larry Freed, CEO of ForeSee Results.
The reports states: "As consumer standards rise, the "best of the best" e-commerce organizations are increasingly standing out from the rest of the pack, challenging competitors in their categories to enhance their focus on customer satisfaction in order to compete successfully."
When it comes to which sector is performing best with customers online — among auctions, brokerage, retail, travel — retail is in the lead.
In terms of keeping customers happy, the report shows that e-commerce sites are definitely performing better than offline retail. According to the ACSI, customer satisfaction with online retail is nearly 12% higher than with the overall retail industry. In fact, while e-retail scores climbed by 1.3% last year, the overall retail industry moved in the opposite direction, dropping by 0.3%.
"E-retailers used to be at a disadvantage because customers couldn't touch and feel their products, but they've figured out that there's a whole lot more they can offer to make up for that," said Mr. Freed. "Today's online stores have evolved significantly, offering advances such as 360° views of products, customer reviews, side-by-side product comparisons, and extensive product information and specifications that often exceed what is available in a store or catalogue."
