I have a couple of thoughts to share with everyone. It has been an incredible month in many ways.

1. Congratulations to all the Leadership Blog readers! You have doubled the traffic to this site again and our blog is rated the #26 ranked blog on the Ice Rocket Blog Tracker system. I have been writing on this blog for only 3 months and the rank is a tribute to the many readers who shared this blog with others. I am very proud of all of you and blessed to serve such an incredible group of leaders! Can we double the traffic again?

2. In a previous career, I won a National Benchmarking Award for technical benchmarking. I was an engineer at the time at GM and enjoyed benchmarking and the learning associated with it. As part of my continuous life learning assignment, I benchmarked many companies in the MLM/Networking field recently. In another month, I will share the results from my benchmarking study. I developed numerous criteria to determine the best and worst in each category. I believe it is my responsibility to ensure people have the facts to choose wisely in all of life’s decisions. Would a benchmarking study of the MLM/Networking industry be of value to you?

3. Chris Brady and I are contemplating writing an autobiographical book of our leadership experiences over the last five years. We have book publishers encouraging us to write another leadership book and maybe this would be a good topic to teach character based leadership? Do the readers think this would be a good subject for a new book?

Let’s continue to do our personal best in everything we do. There is no limit to what can be accomplished if we all do our best and focus on serving others. As Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than receive.” When I started this blog—my goal was to give to others, but I have been more blessed by your thoughts and comments. Hey Orrin, this is off the subject of todays blog, but I'm sure I'm not the only one on the TEAM who would like to know if you ever consider running for president of the usa?? Mark, I do not rule out anything because I know that, "Man devises his plans, but God directs his steps." I truly believe that until we have a media war revolution the president will not be able to implement the needed changes. This blog is part of the media revolution because it gives me a platform to share truths I have learned. If we successfully educate the people, my country asked for my service, and I felt I could help - then I would accept the assignment. I feel we have much to do before any of this would come to pass. Orrin,
1. I'm certain all the growing leaders here would agree - YES WE CAN DOUBLE THE TRAFFIC! Time to roll up the sleeves.
2. It would certainly be an honor to see the results of your benchmark study! Where that particular industry has endured different stigma, either earned or not, a clear insight and sweeping benchmark of it would certainly be enlightening to many.
3. A book on character is sorely needed in today's society, as Chris and yourself understand quite well. If society today had to as an average do the Trilateral Leadership Ledger, character would certainly be tied with relationships as being the lowest, if not being the lowest itself. As you quoted on one of your latest talks after Louisville - John Maxwell says, "There is no such thing as business ethics, just ethics."

All the thoughts you shared were awesome. Please keep this fantastic information coming, Orrin!

Orrin, A BIG "Yes" to all of the above. Yours and Chris' thought process and growth process would provide a lot of insight and inspiration. I am specifically interested in the mentoring process, as one being mentored and as one mentoring others. And your benchmarking analysis is much anticipated also! Thanks for all you do.

Arguing, Arguing is no longer on his plate,searving and mentoring is now what keeps him late. No doubt about it, he's found his call,deffining leadership to one & all. He's built a team of readers, who now can be leaders. The vision is set 1,000,000 to be, many have doubted, but they,ll soon see. The team is unstoppable, because with GOD all is possible.

I think the bigger question is How can you and Chris NOT write another Leadership book? And anything you two put together will obviously be about CHARACTER based leadership.

Seems to me like this should be a done deal!

Kind of a way to put an exclamation point on February 10th?!?!

Hey Orrin,

I would love to see a copy of the benchmarking study about the MLM industry. Based on your and Chris's awesome attention to detail in your LLR book, I know the study will give me much more information than I could accumulate on my own. The autobiography would be a great idea!! Why do I think it would be a good idea? Because both of your lives have been filled with so much achievement, as well as challenge spikes (especially the past few months:), but the humility and servant leadership you both exemplify in times of achievement and times of challenges is something that every leader in this country needs to take notes on! You always make your contributions and gratitude greater than your rewards and challenges! Both of your example's are always so consistent and that among anything else is what makes you both so special! I have learned so much by your constant positive example and I look forward to learning more great things from you both! You make a great team!

As a side note: I was thinking today on my way to lunch: "Orrin and Chris should write a book about the LAWS of Servant Leadership. Maybe "The 17 Irrefutable Laws of Servant Leadership"............. your thoughts :)

First, I would like to say that I really enjoy the assignments you give for this blog. I appreciate the opportunity to give my "two cents" worth. I try not to respond to every post for a couple of reasons.
1. I am very new to Leadership Development and I know I have so much to learn. Your articles certainly help me with my "thinking" problem.
2. I fully realize that an uneducated blog hog serves no real purpose.
What I do, however, is quiet my ever racing mind and really deeply think about the topics of your articles. I do the assignment even if I don't post it on this blog. After reading the comments of those who obviously have much more experience at Leadership Development and Personal Growth, I usually read my own musings and wonder how I can be this old and be such a rookie. Believe me when I tell you that I am learning, reading, listening with every available moment I can.
With that said, it is because a couple of guys made the choice at some point to start the same kind of journey, that I am doing what I am doing now.
I feel that you and Chris are pioneers who have been blazing a path for the rest of us. To join forces with the other great leaders of the Team and to stand strong together through everything life has thrown lately has been down right inspiring to witness.
Launching a Leadership Revolution has giving me an awakening. Slapped me around mentally and emotionally, so to speak.
Please continue to write. You and Chris have a tremendous gift, and the rest of us are so blessed that you have shared what you have learned with those of us that are farther down the path.
Well my ride is here to take me to our LLR bookstudy. That probably has saved the rest of you from my emotional ramblings.
I will sum it up.

Orrin, I think that a benchmarking study of the MLM/Networking industry would be of value to readers everywhere.
I also think character based leadership would be an excellent subject to share in a new book. It is reassuring to know that character based leaders such as Chris and yourself are considering sharing more truth. After all, it is apparent that what you teach is what you live. It has been said that God does not use people to get work done rather He uses work to get people done. I think that a book about what you have learned in the past 5 years would be a great tool to continue to assist people in there personal groweth journey. I, for one, am all for it.
A benchmarking study on the MLM/Networking industry by some one who actually has done the research
AND has the experience would be totally awesome. Look forward to that also.

I think the benchmarking of MLM and networking is something that is soarly needed. So much mis-information is out there about the industry, so an honest study would be beneficial and refreshing. I would like to see that information in a book form as well as your autobiographies.

I had another thought this evening as I read the book "Seasons of Life" - and thought about how proud I am to be associated with a group like this, how proud I am to know you and the other leaders on the Team. Thanks for giving me, my husband and my family a leader worth believing in and following - I am proud of you and Laurie for the life of conviction you have led and the example you set for others. You guys are my inspiration - just wanted you to know - the Woodwards and the Bradys- you guys are the real DIFFERENCE Makers!

I truly hope that your benchmarking study will be widely shared and appreciated. And I have no doubt that you will do this as a servant leader, as with everything you do for the Team, in part so we can determine what our benchmarks need to be as leaders, continually raise the bar and help the entire Team improve in Character, Tasks and Relationships.

I think a book on CHARACTER would be fantastic. While your at it, go ahead with TASK and RELATIONSHIP. The definitions for these topics, especially Character, that the Team leaders not only talk about but exhibit are magnitudes greater than culture. I know I struggle with comparing myself with culture or what I might overhear as the latest "big news" like Brittany and her custody battle...please. The other side of that battle is Pride. MERE CHRISTIANITY chapter 8 is the best, shortest I have ever read on that topic.
The definition of character in the Succes with People book by Cavet Roberts was great, character is the ability to carry out a good resolution long after the mood in which is was made has left you.
I am here to a million and beyond.
I look forward to ordering my copy asap.

Definitely a benchmarking study of the MLM/Networking industry would be of tremendous value. I agree with the comment that I don't see how you and Chris could not write another book. Just reading your postings you can see so many directions that you could go. In fact, I can see so many of the top leaders writing books - how about Randy H. on finances, George G. on historical perspectives of leadership ( a specialty of George and TEAM), and naturally Tim M. on fishing for sharks ( in which there would be dozens of leadership lessons - I am sure there is a catchy title in there somewheres). We had Chuck G. this weekend and that guy is a walking book on purpose - so many more all involved in the media war.

Orrin - Responding to your queries: An autobiographical book allows for more effective identification and internalization of the values in character based living and integrity than a didactic book. Strongly support the same. Also, a benchmarking of MLM and leadership development organizations would greatly inform our understanding of the TEAM organization within which we are so privileged and humbled to be included. 1. Yes - we've shared it with dozens in various communities we participate in. It's exciting to envision the 'ripple effect' that is happening!
2. This is very exciting - can't wait to see/hear/read about it!
3. From the get go...about 5 months ago......we always said: We can't wait to read the book!" . "We hoped/knew there HAD to be one in there --> probably a blockbuster movie, too!

Thanks for all you do. George was awesome in Massachusetts last night. We so much appreciation his serving and willingness to continue to bring the New England Team encouragement. Growth in character among his leaders here is VISIBLY apparent here!

1.) If only through the power of compounding and the quality of the information and perspective on this blog, it will double.
2.) I may reget assuming anything, but this question seems retorical - one only needs to contmeplate for a moment some of the lessons of history and duplication to know without a doubt that information like that would be like a weapon when preparing for battle.
3.) An autobiographical based book on leadership and character would be a fantasic addition to the information you and Chris compiled. I believe it would bridge many gaps for many of us and others given your experiences, ability to proesent them in a manner that so many can relate to, and while I'm sure all of it is based on timeless priciples, the thought that it could be presented in a manner that is so close to so many's current realities is very powerful.

I would absolutely be interested in your results on the MLM/ networking benchmarking study. I was just talking with a fellow team mate that voiced his concern on NOT being labeled as an MLM type of industry. I'm sure there are many misinformed people, but most importantly people that have had BAD experiences with "that type" of industry. This team mate said, " It just seams that everybody thinks that MLM/ networkmarketing is not a positive or profitable industry to invest time and money". That statement alone is common thinking with many people. So, YES! It would be helpful to have the facts for myself and for other people to make a well informed decision. Thank you Orrin.

Orrin, A BIG YES to all three! There are many truths mixed with myths out there about MLMs. You study would clear up many of them, I am sure. I also know that a book on character, from you and Chris, would be based on not only your perspective, but EXPERIENCE as well! Thank you both for the Leadership example you provide to us. GOD BLESS!
