Several years back, I had the opportunity to meet Clay Dyer at a late night meeting during a convention. Billy and Peggy had some leaders back in their suite and Clay was demonstrating to us how he fished and competed in Bass tournaments. I had come into the convention to encourage and inspire others, but I was the one encouraged and inspired by Clay's example. Clay understands that in life, you don't always control the cards you are dealt. But you do control how you choose to play the cards. What bad breaks have you been given in life? Are you compounding the problem by focusing on the obstacles or are you overcoming the obstacles through focusing on your gifts.
Clay could have easily cursed his fate and been a victim. Instead, Clay is one of the most inspirational human beings that I have had the privilege of meeting. Remember, what you do in life matters. Clay's Christian testimony is an inspiration to so many. What testimony is your life giving to the watching world? In our political discussions, everyone is talking about change. I believe that real change always begins on the inside. Clay told me that he wanted his life to be a testament for what can be overcome when you put your mind to it.
