This talk, in 1964, launched Ronald Reagan's presidential aspirations. This was given as a paid for ad to help Barry Goldwater's failed presidential run. Listen to the principles discussed and please share how many of these issues are still relevant today. Techniques may change, but principles never do. Ronald Reagan lived his principles and we need a few good leaders to live their principles again. God Bless, Orrin Woodward

Wow how that party has changed. I watched this video just after the previous Bush video. No comparison. This is one of the best of Reagan. I haven't heard a politician talk with such passion, knowledge, intelligence, belief, common sense, facts, and wisdom since the farewell address of 1988. Roughly twenty years before this speech was given America was at war with a world of dictators. Roughly twenty years after this speech this man was President. Roughly twenty years after that we were at war with terrorism (same enemy with a different hat some say). Is it going to take another twenty years from now before we get another man like this to lead this country?

I'm starting to see a common theme in your recent posts. We share the same passion, and I'm appalled where this country is headed. Thanks for opening our eyes.
The video of president Reagan is a timeless classic. He was a leader's leader. Reagan had the courage to do the unpopular and stand behind his principles. His whole life reflected that fortitude. It's a great reminder of how a real leader should act in times of distress, the results speak for themselves. The previous video of President Bush reflected to me a man frustrated and throwing his hands up in desperation. He appears overwhelmed and at a loss. He sees his only option is abandoning his principles and bowing to the pressure. Not a pretty picture. Where does the blame lie? I think we need to go look in the mirror. Elected officials need to held accountable. How would your children turn out if they were never held accountable for their actions? We've all become complacent when it comes to government. How easy is it to sit in a recliner and tsk? We are aboard a sinking ship, and while it wasn't so bad when the water was around our ankles, it's level is more up around our chest. It's time to take action and find the leak. Society has become complacent with our elected officials. We have a voice and it needs to be heard. Not in four years but now, before we man the lifeboats. This starts at the local level and ends at the top. Write a letter, send an email, make sure everyone you contact is an informed voter and they make their voice heard. If we continue to lie around and accept what is handed to us then we get what we deserve. This can be fixed but not without action. Bill Howard Re: Ronald Reagan - A Time for Choosing

Classic Reagan. My favorite quote in this video:
The more the plans fail, the more the planners plan. Did you notice that not only did he write is own speech, he virtually memorized i, and in a speech almost 30 minutes long! And what passion! The same principles that he refers to then are needed today. The TEAM will help teach and promote these very principles. Re: Ronald Reagan - A Time for Choosing

Either we learn from history or are doomed to repeat it. Only thru education in what America has stood for from the founding of our republic ...Life, Liberty under Law, and the Pursuit (not gaurentee) of happiness...in a word Freedom. The slippery slope to to statism looms before us. Creativity, productivity and wealth?...or security, stagnation, and poverty...as WSC said the equal sharing of misery?

Wow! Thank you Orrin and Capt Bill. It seems in many ways as though Former President Regan is speaking about our country today. Thanks to our personal development system, we have turned away from societies primary source of information a long time ago. We now seek our own answers. I am astonished at what I find.
Our mission has been clear to me for a long time. I think Orrin said it best "not Revolution but Restoration" of our founding principles. Thank you again and God Bless! Rich Dudek |
