Milton Friedman is another famous economist with a critical message for our generation. Milton and his wife Rose both taught the importance of freedom for the individual in making economic choices. A video series was produced based upon their best selling book Freedom to Choose. Here is the first video in the series. I particularly like the introduction from Arnold Schwarzenegger as he describes why he wanted to come to

Now I am totally behind you, Orrin. Milton Firedman is part of the free-enterprise Chicago School of Economics. If you could only choose two economics book to read, I would pick Free To Choose and The Road to Serfdom.
Unfortunately, Milton has passed on. I am sure he is up there, hobnobbing with Ronald Reagan and shaking their heads over the dismal morass that the Government has steered us into. The only way out is to gather a large group of like-minded individuals, work within the democratic process, and restore our country to the ways of our Founding Fathers. Unfortunately, it appears that every generation must have their Jimmy Carter moment - where an incompetent government and President wrecks the economy. When all is darkest, only then will a principled leader appear to lead us back to what we have always known would work - free enterprise. I believe that the Carter of the Millenials (the 18-24yo generation) is about to take the reins of Government. Whether we have two or foour years of misery is a function of two things: how much they overreach, and/or how fast the somnolent electorate wakes up. Happy New Year, and thanks for finding this clip, Orrin. Re: Milton Friedman - Free to Choose

Orrin,
Hey, great video! Thanks for sharing. Here's another article by Thomas Sowell that further questions the wisdom of more government intervention in the free market: http://townhall.com/columnists/ThomasSowell/2008/12/23/another_great_depression?page=full&comments=true#comments The article explains how government interference actually prolonged the great depression. Thanks, Mark Re: Re: Milton Friedman - Free to Choose

Orrin, do you have a solid resource re. the argument that Clinton left a "surplus" and thus substantiates their belief in higher taxes and more welfare? Forwaed the video to Arnold as he has sure changed his principles(national health care higher taxes on all consumption and oil production as well as incredibly regulated green energy coercion, oops I mean policy!)
