Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.

Hey Orrin, These leadership lessons through history are outstanding . Thanks for taking the time to put this together . I think these are important because of both the lack of historical knoweledge and the leadership void are country is currently facing . We will be richer because of your shared wisdom. Your last two comments really hit home regarding the opportunities leaders get to either make or miss making an impact in history. Three examples come to mind . The first example was found in the lesson from the Bible when Joshua and Caleb were sent to spy the Caanan camp . They visualized an opportunity but the rest of the camp became fearful of the " giants " and overruled them because of fear . In the Robert E. Lee book some might agree that the Gettysburg loss was due to inactivity from Longstreets failure to act according to strategy . He either had a " better " idea or became fearful to act . The third example comes from an unlikey hero named Frances Marion who supported the southern campaign of the American Revolution from the Carolina swamps . He took the cause of freedom seriously and faced the fear and decided to act . Thanks again for getting the leadership lessons we can learn from great books and gleaning from your experience and wisdom.
