Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Abraham Lincoln - Stephen Douglas Debates

Orrin... This is an excellent example of the difference between common law and political law. One is right all of the time, the other is right only some of the time. Sadly, we have drifted as a nation into the relativistic, secularized direction of political law. One of the dangers of democracy is the sacrifice of absolute for the popular (majority rule). Without the underpinning of absolute truth, we will drift from one popular idea to the next, never inviting wisdom into our house. One of the greatest gifts we can pass on to the next generation is a knowledge and embrace of this common law which stems from God's law. It will take a generation of leaders to change the direction of our country. We've already started in the mundane, seemingly unimportant (but highly critical) activities of raising our children...leading by example...teaching that RIGHT does not necessarily mean easy or hard...encouraging the importance of right thought to drive right action...giving to the Lord our first fruits of all we have -- our time, money, effort, thought, resources, gifts/talents...being uncompromising in regards to the pursuit of absolute truth in love.
