Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Abraham Lincoln - Stephen Douglas Debates

Orrin, I really appreciate the insight, especially when you said, “…both sides, neglected higher principles and attempted to settle the dispute on lower principles.” The Civil War has always perplexed me and was never a subject I enjoyed studying. My manager at work encouraged me to read the book by Michael Shaara called “Killer Angels”. I found the book fascinating from a historical point of view and the way the Author developed both sides of the conflict as equal. I came away from that book with a greater appreciation for the men on both sides of the conflict. As you stated so well both disputing over lower principles and emotion, not willing to understand the others view. I am glad you and all the leaders with Team chose to take the high road and not stoop to lower principle tactics. That is the example I want to exemplify in my life. I look forward to seeing you and Lori in Houston… God Bless, Mark
