Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Re: Separation of Religion & State?
by Anonymous
Just a side note, slavery was ended because of Christians with christian values motivating them, women's sufferage the same. Christian values did not create those problems, Christian values solved those problems. Blaming Christians for those problems is like blaming the arresting officer for the drug trade. Both were there at the same time, but were there to solve the issues. The other point I wanted to make is the other problem about separation of church and state. Currently, pastors are not allowed to talk about politics because of this farce. Again, this separation was to keep the state out of the church, not the church out of the state. Because of this misreading of history, the first amendment no longer applies to pastors or any other church leader. If the government can take away the first amendment from some individuals, why not take it away from others? And, if they can take the First amendment away, why not the first ten amendments? Christians believe that God gave us our rights, and we are to reign in government. Others believe the government gave us our rights, and with them can reign in the citizens. Take both these options to the logical ending, and where do you see us?
