Re: Presidential Election 2008 - Principles - American Patriotism

Where do I start with this question. The first Clouse in this country was Pettiplace Clouse in 1607. Yes, we were one of the first Europeans to this country. He settled in Jamestown in one of the first boats into that city. Kind of a boring story so far, but here is where it gets interesting. He came over as an indentured servant (basically as a slave). If he did this in any other country in the world, then his whole family down through my generation would have been indentured servants. But in America, your future is up to you. We came over here as slaves, and became as free as anyone else. Our future is in our own hands. It didn't matter where we came from, or even where we were at that time. It's what we made of it. Only in America can an indentured servant become free to do what he wills to do. What a country!
