Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.

Orrin, I heard those 2 authors speak at a conference I went to and they were fantastic! I have not read that book yet, but it is definately something I should go pick up. The whole idea of sharing information is something I have seen first hand for the past 5 years in the corporate training and development departments. This is what is called "social networking." The whole concept stems from from the fact that "I can learn more by having access to people to learn from in addition to the traditional route of learning." Social networking is a concept where best practices on critical topics are shared, subject matter experts share their knowledge, and corporations share strategies and concepts with one another (obviously not a lot of proprietary info). For those of us that are apart of TEAM, the idea of social networking is truly not that new of a concept. For the sole reason that our goal is to develop other leaders. When we develop other leaders the idea of hoarding information gets thrown out the door. Now, that is assuming each leader's goal is to be a serving leader instead of a self-serving leader. As serving leaders everything we have is on loan. I don't necissarily mean monetarily speaking. What I mean is our relationships, knowledge, and influence. We know in order to multiply our influence and develop other leaders we need to pass on not only what we are learning, but more importantly pass on the source where much of the knowledge stems from. For me, TEAM as a whole is a large social network that I can trust! The shared knowledge that we all have access to is AMAZING!! The saying of "all of us is definately stronger than anyONE of us" is definately true in this case! The knowledge of the social network we have access to is filled with with rich character, results, and servanthood. Obviously this is why so many of us are excited to not only be a part of TEAM, but so willing to share it with other people! Growing forward we all just have to remember to continue being rivers and not resorviours. In other words hoarding any information, knowledge or talents won't help us reach the one million mark. However being like a river and allowing information, knowledge and talents to flow through you will help TEAM reach the million mark! Just remember: God will only give to us what he knows will flow through us! On a side note it is great to see the corporate culture embrace this new method of learning and set of beliefs. Never before has it been a better time for us to expand the TEAM Leadership influence across other corporations and nation like it is right now! Thanks Orrin! Best, Matt
