Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Presidential Candidates - Taxes and Private Property

Orrin- In regards to this article, I would love to hear your opinion of the new economic stimulus package the government is talking about. On one hand it is giving money back to the people...but really won't it just come back from us anyways because the government is not "cutting" anything to give back the reported $145 billion? To me, and please correct me if I'm wrong...it sounds like my wife and I taking our budget and saying, hmm we would really love to help the family down the street, lets take 1% of our yearly gross and give it to them. While it may be nice and fun and even good to do, if we don't adjust our budget by cutting from another area it really is just setting us back more. Am I correct in this thinking? Also, in regards to the economic stimulus package the government is planning on everyone spending their $800 or whatever it turns out to be...what would happen (I know its really far fetched) if everyone just paid off debt, or immediately stuck it into their retirement or emergency funds? As our leadership communities grow, we will be consulted on what to do with these funds, and I am imagining hundreds of thousands of people making their situations better by making the right choice with this situation.
