Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Jim Collins - Good to Great
by Herbert S. Wagner
Orrin, This article sums it all up by describing some basic principles for entrepreneurship. Jim Collins hits the nail right on the head. 1. Do not get all obsessed over finding the “great idea”. -- As Chris Brady says; find something ordinary and just make it much better. 2. “Figure out your partners and than the ideas to pursue”. -- Thanks to you and Chris for providing a platform for us to partner up in the pursued of freedom. 3. “Successful Entrepreneurs grow with their companies”. – Thanks to you and Chris for the relentless willingness to grow for the better of everyone involved. 4. “Willful humility, tremendous ambition, doing what ever it takes, discipline and preparation rather than personal genius”. – These character values are embedded in the TEAM Leadership Culture. Thanks to LLR. 5. “The wisdom from failure”. -- You and Chris taught us that failure is not final and that it is a stepping stone to success. Orrin, I just re read “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” by Patrick Lencioni. I see every level from developing trust, facing conflicts, commitment, accountability and the recognition of individual results represented in the TEAM Leadership Culture. Thanks for leading the way. I feel like everywhere I look I find another piece for a puzzle called freedom. With respect, Herbert S. Wagner
