Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Re: Jim Collins - Good to Great

Orrin, First of all, thank you so much for everything you stand for. I have had so many people approach me about other businesses or "opportunities" over the past 5 month and all of them only talk about level 1 motivation. I feel sad that they cannot understand a deep rooted loyalty because they have never been a part of such an awesome team that stands for Godly principles, and that portrays such honor (character and integrity). To piggy-back on what Matt Franks said in his post about the "flywheel principle" in Jim Collins book, I will share my favorite quote from the book. "When (people) see the monolithic unity of the executive team behind the simple plan and the selfless, dedicated qualities of Level 5 leadership, they'll drop their cynicism. When people begin to feel the magic of momentum- when they begin to see tangible results- that's when the bulk of people line up to through their shoulders against the wheel and push" We are in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. Another one of my favorite quotes comes from Jack Welsh, the CEO of GE. (one of the companies studied as a great company in Jim Colin's book) Jack Welsh said "Leadership is the ability to see opportunity in tough times." Have Fun, Make Money, Make a Difference, Jimmie Jayes
