Re: Historical Reminscences & A Vision for the Future - Part II
by

Orrin,
I've been involved for over 2 years now, and am married into a family that has been involved for over 30 years. Sometimes people in this business tend to exaggerate or spin things to make it sound better (like your interactive television example).
That always bothered me.
However, when I read your two posts this morning I was extremely impressed by how open, honest, and transparent you are about your history, the business, and your thoughts for the future.
That speaks volumes for who you are as a person, and for how you will run this new venture.
I have worked for several successful internet startups in New York City, and am continually amazed by how quickly information (bad and good) can spread. Trying to hide or spin information today will ultimately lead to that companies demise.
The best PR is open and honest communication, and you are showing that more and more.
I cannot tell you how much Team has helped me in my life. Sometimes living in the city can make you hard and callous, but from the books and CD's I have always stayed above the rampant cynicism that pervades everyone who lives here.
With the onslaught of gossip blogs and online rumor mills, it seems that anyone who stands for ANYTHING is going to be attacked.
Ive had numerous times where people are arguing and complaining about our country and I will be asked for my opinion. You wouldn't believe the looks on their face when I say: "I believe in personal responsibility. If you have a problem with the government, big corporations, etc... then DO something to change it. I believe there are two types of people in this world: Talkers and Do-ers, which one do you think you are?"
Thanks for everything,
Jack in NYC
