Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Empathy - The Art of Understanding
by Anonymous
Hey Orrin, I just wanted to contribute my perspective to the cause. I can honestly say that as I read the new 'phase one' opportunity unveiled, I was confused. Like others, my expectations were not in line with the reality of our cirumstances. However, the melancholy in me compelled me to visit the site and read everything they offered and watch all the demo videos. For me there was never a moment of doubt, all I could do was envision how this would work once we started. I see immediate benefits for the new team member if the leadership in that team adheres to power player principles. Their compensation truly rewards the performers in any team. The spot holders, however, will need to step up and 'play the game' this time. I like this personally, as it challenges us all to grow and honestly implement the leadership principles we can learn from the system. Your focus on empathy as a lesson for us was appropriately timed. We need to look at ourselves and our teams with an empathetic eye and a realistic mindset. We have been patient for months, a few more weeks will not hurt. It is easy to set high(unrealistic) expectations and then feel deceived when they are not met. I remember Chris and Terri's talk from the '06 October major on self-deception. I have been reading the comments section to get a feel of the atmosphere for the Team. Here locally, for my group, I was easily the most guilty of this malady. Nonetheless, even I could see where this opportunity not only makes sense, but is so the way to pursue the million person vision you set for us, Orrin. I have no doubt whatsoever when the compensation plan is translated to our power player community building plan, everyone will breathe a sigh of gratitude and relief. Remember everyone, the Team has always focused on ONE PRODUCT--PEOPLE. Let's go to a million!!!! Thanks Orrin, Daniel Gutierrez Team Excellence in AZ
