Ron, Sorry for not being a "Star Trek 'purist,'" but I like virtually all of the Star Trek spinoff series. What I think is really most interesting in several of the series is the Borg and the Dominion both of which wanted to absorb any potential competition. Any similarities between the Borg and the Dominion and any corporation is strictly coincidental. On a different level "The Devil in the Dark" is one of my favorite episodes, but it is interesting that no one has mentioned another of my favorite episodes, "The Empath," in which a representative of an alien race used empathy to such an extent that she took on the suffering of another to the point of death to save that person.
