Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: The Dumbing of America - How Team Makes a Difference
by John Morgan
Orrin, First, the evidence shared in this article is almost overwhelming but neccessary, Thanks. I am pleased to know that there are others who are aware and are passionate about reading and learning. Thanks also goes to Susan Jacoby. Second, as I read your opening comments I was captured by two words (situational ethics) and began to listen to my whispering voice inside asking me if I really understand what this means and what Orrin means as he writes. So, I Googled the words "situational ethics" and found a guy named Joseph Fletcher who wrote a book on this topic. as I read through some of his theories on "The New Morality" in wikipedia, I began to find myself down a road that I felt might be altering to ones belief system so I thought it would serve good to come back to here and ask the question of you a trusted source. Reading is good, wrong reading is bad. Can you give some insight on situational ethics? Thanks, John Morgan Defend The Shield
