Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.

John, The great thing about this blog is that anyone can give any information or thoughts that they think are relevant and if there is any misinformation someone else with correct information can correct the misinformation. Having said that, I would like to address the subject of situational ethics, as I see it and if I say anything in error I am sure that someone with more accurate information and understanding will correct it. Proponants of situational ethics try to say that they base their beliefs on Einstein's theory of relativity in that the rightness or wrongness of anything is relative to the situation. It is my belief, and I think was Einstein's belief as well, that without an absolute by which measure anything, even the theory of relativity is useless. There must be absolutes, otherwise civilation, culture and even the physical universe itself could not continue to exist. Anyone who says that the rightness of an act is relative to the situation denies this truth. I, personally, believe that the one true absolute in the universe is God as revealed in the Bible. All rightness, wrongness and truth must be measured against that absolute. I know that this is rather short answer to a complicated issue, but just how complicated does the truth have to be? DaveC
