Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Trust, Delegation & Productivity

Orrin, Wow! This article hit met square between the eyes. We all have our blind-spots, but your comments on trust are exactly what I needed to hear. Trust is one of the many art-side principles that are absolutely necessary to building a healthy, synergistic, growing community. Task alone cannot do it (and as a matter of fact will be counter-productive unless trust is built in the process). As I think through the Tri-Lateral Leadership Ledger, I feel "trust" could be one of the few unique measuring points that need to be evaluated in each of the Character, Task, and Relationship categories. I feel this way because A) there must be a fundamental character flaw if people cannot develop trust amongst their peers; B) the ability to duplicate science-side tasks will not exist without developing trust during the process of the task; and C) it is impossible to build lasting relationships without trust. Do you agree, or am I micro-analyzing this facet? As the saying goes, people don't care how much you know (or what you can do) until they know how much you care - specifically about them on a genuine personal level. And we show how much we care with our T-I-M-E. This is what you have done for all of us and continue to do daily through your conviction and vision. You are a man of character and provide an excellent example for each of us to follow when you write, "My personal attitude is that I want to be friends first and then team partners." Thanks for all you time, sacrifice and caring for each of us on the Team!
