Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Leadership Cultures - Constructive or Destructive Leadership?
by pappabiggs
Orrin, I really appreciate your efforts in providing such thought provoking articles. This particular article took me back over the continum of constructive and destructive - past and present work experiences in both leader and lead roles. The sentence of "cause and effect" really forced me to think about the personalities (others & my own) and how or why things went the way they did. This reflection time took me back to a posting in my daily journal (02-18) from a religious site. "God can help you meet that need by filling what is lacking in you. It's not about trying hard, but about receiving all that he has to offer." Then, I noted that day: "Maybe in 'trying hard' we create the attitude - 'It's all about me', instead of having the focus, 'It's all about God'." The following Sunday in St Louis, this question and thought came to me: What is the most important question to ask in my relationships with people? Maybe it's not - "Where is God in this relationship?", but rather "Is there a belief in me that God is in me and He is also in others?" That continual "belief" question is causing me to change my attitude rapidly. I'm only posting this to past on some thoughts that came through me from our common Creator. Hope it helps someone else to think further about "cause/s". Greg
