Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Leadership Cultures - Constructive or Destructive Leadership?
by coach369
Orrin-another terrific article to get me thinking and reflect on doing-Recently we had a change in administration at our high school, the past principal was a spiteful dictataorial destructive typ,the moral was very low with teacher turnover, the present principal was the third choice and isnot destructive but also not constructive and the moral has gone back to low. However individual teachers continue to teach and impact their students in a constuctive manner. Teams I have been associated with, if the coaching style is negative/destuctive, results in poor quality with alot of tension and failure.Teams that are constuctively coached respond in a very postive manner with growth, failing forward attitude, togetherness and success for both individual and team. You get more out of a 'pat' on the back than a constant 'kick in the butt' although there are times we all need a kick! Thanks for an occasional kick Orrin --be free coach
