Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Leadership Cultures - Constructive or Destructive Leadership?
by Anonymous
I am so grateful to be a part of TEAM! I have tried to explain what I am experiencing to many different people, but I feel that I never fully convey what an amazing journey it has already been. One of the hardest things to explain is what I am learning. I guess because even before TEAM many of my close friends and family already considered me an intellectual. Quite frankly so did I. That was part of my problem! So when I try to explain what I have learned (primarily in people skills) I almost always get asked, "Didn't you already know that?". The thing is that I usually already did - but it was only in a vague concept. There's something about reading it in an article or book, or hearing someone speak on the subject that clarifies it for me. And that is exactly what this article did for me! I already had a vague concept of why my previous workplace was riddled with gossip, passive aggressive behaviors/comments, negative attitudes and generally low morale, but this article articulated those thoughts. The amazing thing is that I left that job because of those reasons and set out looking for something that I could not explain - an opportunity to be my own boss without the time limitations of what I already knew self-employment encompassed. An opportunity that would allow me to work with people and enable me to make a difference in their lives. Where I could move beyond the manager training that I was receiving and be given an opportunity to be a leader. I was looking for TEAM before I even knew TEAM existed! My husband changed jobs shortly after I did, and on a whim (we thought at the time;p) picked a job that allowed us to meet the couple that introduced us to TEAM - and our lives haven't been the same since! Thank God!! Thank you TEAM leadership for doing all that you have to pave the way. Thank you for standing up for what is right because it's the right thing to do! Thank you for being the men and women of character that you are - the constructive leaders that you are - and leading the way to one million and beyond! Fired up!!
