Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.

Has anyone thought about getting the church involved with resolving the dispute? I know where Jay Van Andel's daughter and husband are members. If the families are owners of the Amway business (and I think they are) and they are members in good standing of local churches, then it seems to me that it is a bad reflection on the church of Christ when believers cannot resolve these type of issues. I don't care how big either side is, there has to be a win-win solution that is honoring to Christ that must be pursued. If the churches would get together to mediate the dispute (instead of the lawyers), then I think the world would be impressed and Christ would be honored. There are still churches who hold to and believe in this principle. I assume that Orrin has tried to follow the instruction in Matt 18 about such disputes. Mat 18:15 And if thy brother sin against thee, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. Mat 18:16 But if he hear thee not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established. Mat 18:17 And if he refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church: and if he refuse to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican. Mat 18:18 Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven. Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Chuck Summers
