Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Re: Polish Solidarity Movement - A Case Study in Resistance to Tyranny

For those or you who missed it on Chris's blog here is Chris's reply to Ian's post: Ian from Texas: I like the line of your questions here. I believe that Churchill DECIDED to win, and every step and breath he took following that decision was in line with his resolve to make that decision come true. Remember, leaders don't only make tough decisions, they also do the tough work to make those decisions right! Decide, stick to it and see it through. That's the stuff of a true leader like Churchill. Thanks for sharing! Chris And here is my comment as nearly as I remember it since it has not been posted yet (I guess Chris isn't up at O Dark thirty): Ian and Chris (and Orrin), I think that Churchill "decided" and "willed" to win, but I also think that he spoke to give the people hope. Remember that when Pandora's box was opened the one thing that did not escape was hope. Hope in an indispensible quality in the lives of all people. I think that hope is what caused England to survive and even prevail over the tyranny and might of Hitler and hope is what caused Solidarity to survive and prevail over the tyranny of Communism.
