Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Steve Jobs - CEO Apple Computers/Pixar Animation
by Infinity
As a life-long Macintosh user (Steve is right: Windows just attempts to copy the Mac), I have always been drawn to the rebellious and forward thinking of Steve Jobs and Apple. This speech rings with the part of all of us that deeply desires to change the world. I am from the same generation. The one that challenged everything we were told. Sometimes that was good, and sometimes it wasn't. When I became a Christian and realized that absolute values exist, I committed my life to touching peoples lives for Him. But it is easy to allow the "world" to force you into the mold of conformity to their standards and practices. Though I have accomplished a good living for my family there has always been a part of me that felt that I was called to more. Steve's point is right on: If you knew you were going to die today, would you do what you are planning to do? Rebellion, with Godly principles, is exactly what brings life its joy! We are all doing the right thing! We know that life is 100% fatal, and we need to live today like it is our last. Thanks for this and your previous post. They dovetail together wonderfully. Scott
