Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Mel Gibson - William Wallace - Sons of Scotland

Orrin and blog readers- Braveheart, what a movie...what a clip. As some of you may know I teach high school students that are "at-risk". I have a lot of freedom as to what I present, how I present it, how I measure, etc. What I am excited about is the tools that I have been shown to use in my classroom. It first started as some books, 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, The Ultimate Gift, Critical Choices, LLR, Maxwell, Wooden, Eat that Frog etc. From there it went to the seminars and major leaderships. When I come back we go through my notes find the best quotes and sayings, make posters out of these, and hang them in our classroom. Lately it has been this blog. :) I show the clip, make the quotes or writings into a handout, and than have the students write their favorite quote and respond to the video or in todays case we discussed it as a group. What I would love to have feedback on is this...as a blog reading community, what CD's would you implement into this program? I have an iPod for the class and I have funds to get another...I have a huge external hard drive, what I want to do is fit some CDs in as well and create a curriculum of Team material...any ideas? Todays discussion was fantastic...and Ill leave that at that...now to my thoughts. Ay, you will leave and you will live, you fight and you may die, but later in your beds as you are taking your last breaths you would give anything to have one more chance to fight for your freedom. (Sorry for the paraphrase) How relevant is that now? I too will follow William Wallace, he has given me a reason to stand, a reason to grow, a reason to take my status quo. My Faith has grown. The information I am getting encourages me everyday. Life is not perfect...as many times you will hear on CD...life is going to happen to you anyways...be a part of something that is worthwhile. Our challenge is truly the media, status quo, following the road we are currently on. The way to stop this is to go against the grain, challenge the current, run into the pack. Is it comfortable NO, Does it hurt SOMETIMES, Is it worthwhile YES! I know there will be a time when I look into my daughters eyes (She is 7 months old) and tell her that I love her and that she is an inspiration of everything that I stand for, Faith, Family, Freedom. And I will see deep in those baby blues that I won't have to tell her what I stood for...because she would have seen it everyday thanks to a man that dared to lead Orrin Woodward, the leaders that followed BRADY, MARKS, GUZZARDO, the PCs, the RTs, and the troops. While the guy in the movie says William Wallace is 7ft tall, and the expression is that he can send out fireballs from his eyes and lightening bolts too...our William Wallace stands tall in the law of God and the land, sends fireballs through history lessons, and lightening bolts through this blog. Here is to fighting tyranny for the freedom of all, even those who fight against us. Love and Blessings from ALT Phill
