Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.

Ronda, Without knowing all the details, I will tell you my basic beliefs. I believe parents are responsible for their children under God and not an overreaching government. I am for as many choices and available competition as possible in education. The more competition - the more choices and the better educational opportunities available to all parents. I do not believe there should be one group responsible for all education in America anymore than I believe one group should be responsible for all the cars produced in our country. No competiton means no drive for continuous improvement which means the organization forgets to serve the customer. Home schooling is currently one of the few choices available to parents who are sick of the secularism indoctrinated into their children through many public schools. There are many hard working teachers who are not given the opportunity to improve the situation because they are checked by a massive bureauacracy and not free enterprise penalties for lack of results. I stand with all the California parents in this serious abuse of the freedoms to choose how to educate their children! God Bless, Orrin
