Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: The Berlin Wall - A Study in Oppression and Captivity
by Ryan in Minneapolis
Histoical axamples are an excellent way to learn. Great leagers like Regan and Churchill stood for principles that the masses were blind to and changes the face of history forever as a result. My question today is, what is the Team attempting to teach through these exapmles? I'm finding it difficult to relate to the example of the Berlin wall in the context of developing leaders in modern day North America. Being one of the folks new to the Team with respect to never having been involved in the Quixtar business, it's hard for me to borrow from what Regan did in East Germany and apply it to my everyday life as I do not look around my home, office, family or church as see massive opression. Surely this is not another metaphor for the DeVos family and Team? We are better than to give them any further attention and in all honestly, I think Orrin's historical exapmles get applied to this context far too often.
