Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: The Berlin Wall - A Study in Oppression and Captivity
by g.a.b.
What I take from all this, in addition to the breaking news of the resignation of New York’s vicious Governor, is that there are many men (and women) who simply let power & politics cloud their ability to think rationally. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It reminds me of a Jars of Clay song, ‘There is a River’. The line “These are things you were never meant to shoulder”, while not referring to politics in the context of the song, rings true in that there are “things” and heights that man was not meant to occupy because of his/their sinful nature. Certain corporate “Christians” know that what they’re doing violates their own chosen standard of ethics (albeit chosen long ago and now, apparently, forgotten); yet they do it anyway. I’d love to be there when they answer for their actions before their professed Lord and Savior. Meanwhile, “brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of [perfection]. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Hold fast! : )
