So true... that what we say isn't always what the other person hears. Considering that everyone we talk to may not be aware or interested in the importance and variances in communication, I think we can improve perception and avoid conflict by being specific. In other words, Say exactly what you mean. Be clear about your motive. That is usually what is questioned. When the other person knows that your motive is good, they are far more likely to accept your words at face value. It boils down to trust. Jen C.
