Re: Amway/Quixtar North America - Confronting Brutal Reality

Dear Orrin,
Thank you for putting all of those numbers together for us to look at. That probably took some effort to get accurate and I believe that it makes a valid point for current and future business owners. I have no patience for numbers and research that requires figures at that level of detail, so it really is appreciated and I will most certainly point people in this direction if they ask about the difference between Amway/Quixtar and any other MLM.
Here’s where I continue to get irritated. I feel I will also have to explain to those same people that the figures are useful and most likely accurate but please ignore insinuations of covert hostility toward Amway/Quixtar hidden underneath a sheepdog defense. You are being a wonderful Sheepdog in that you are making these figures known and asking possible IBO’s why they would want to participate in a business that is in decline. I have a problem however with your defensiveness and apparent inability to “love them where they’re at” (meaning Amway/Quixtar management) while also giving your resume as a leader that serves the public good. Amway/Quixtar will either rise or fall of their own accord and telling the public the truth about what Amway/Quixtar has apparently been hiding is definitely honorable and courageous. It seems however that you are addressing your comments to Amway/Quixtar management, not the potential IBO. I am glad you have pointed out what you have and told the truth for all to read, but now it feels as if you are beating the proverbial dead dog. If Amway/Quixtar management is looking at these blogs, I am highly doubtful that they feel grateful for advice not asked for and I am also pretty sure that you know this to be true. So the way you are surrounding your wonderful facts appears more like an attempt at disrespecting the people that make up Amway/Quixtar management. They too are human and make mistakes while knowing in their heart they are right. Asking them the same questions over and over again about why they won’t change is like asking a snake why it won’t stop biting or a skunk why it won’t stop spraying its foul smell. Both of those actions are in defense of the appearance of being attacked. I know for myself that if I see someone lashing out in defense at me, then I need to look at myself and who I am being that could have triggered that in them, not simply react by bashing back. I and they will not grow otherwise because no one can see as clearly while being defensive. I cannot change others and neither can you.
I am expecting you to defend yourself again, but I really am not attacking you. I love you and what you are attempting is courageous and honorable. I am simply unable to continue to be silent regarding the manner and context with which you are attempting to portray the truth. It does not say “Leader” in my eyes and I know that who you really are is a true Leader. Thanks for listening.
