Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Money, Banking & the Federal Reserve
by Anonymous
I just had a quick question about the newly proposed economic stimulus package that would triple the last one handed out by the government. I am a stay at home mom with three kids and one on the way... With that being said- I am usually a little timid about having an opinion about economics because my days consist of homework and diapers. Anyway, after reading the latest post on mises.org I had a question for you. Since socialism is now being forced down our throats, why can't the government do it smarter? If we are going to get this money why don't they put contingencies on it? Like only make the checks transferrable to retailers. Make retailers that accept the check discount the products to those customers. Instead of bailing out the big three, give loans to the people to go get cars from the big three. I don't agree with my idea at all but its like putting cheese on brussel sprouts. Its still nasty but at least it can be swallowed. There's always dessert. Or should people just ignore the checks all together to send a message?
