Re: Loyalty and Friendship - Bella & Tara

Orrin,
One of the things that has made you such a great leader is your unwavering commitment to people. Great leaders reach across and connect with others before they expect others to reach up and follow them.
You have risked putting yourself on the line with countless people. You have always expected yourself to give your best to people and because of that you have formed relationships that most people could only hope to have. Sure you always run the risk of people using you for personal gain, but you realize if you cease putting yourself on the line with others you stop attracting people that can truly help you.
I found this Pros that reminded me about the importance of friendships:
"You may build a beautiful house, but eventually it will crumble.
You may develop a fine career, but one day it will be over.
You may save a great sum of money, but you can’t take it with you.
You may be in superb health today, but it can change in a moment’s notice.
You may take pride in your accomplishments, but someone will surpass you.
Discouraged? Don’t be, for the one thing that really matters and lasts forever are true friendships."
I love what bestselling author Max Lucedo says, "the enemy doesn't have to take things from you, he just has to make you take them for granted." I think that quote applies perfectly to our friendships. When was the last time we have shown our gratitude for the relationships that matter in our life? I am talking about the people that bring out the best in you.
I am forever grateful for the encouragement and belief that you have consistently breathed into me. Albert Pike said, "What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal." I have often told you that my goal is to deposit more into my relationships than I withdrawal from them. That is truly hard to do with you because you are a walking encouragement machine!
Thanks for taking what you do very seriously, but not taking yourself too seriously. Because of that you have and will continue to impact people in ways they can't imagine. I know I have been a recipient of your belief and encouragement! I am very grateful for the friendship we have formed, but look forward to the plans the Lord has for it!
God Bless,
Matt
