Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: A Game of Hope and Redemption
by Matt Franks
Orrin, Great article and wonderful video! Thanks for sharing it with us! It's amazing what the gift of love, encouragement, and forgiveness can do to the hearts of others. Even if they are the coldest of hearts. I know over the course of my life I have been the recipient of love, encouragement, and forgiveness from people when I haven't deserved it. What I have discovered is this: Forgiveness doesn't change the events of the past, but it does mark the beginning for a brighter future! How many of us have received the light of hope when someone has given us the benefit of the doubt? I know in my life that has happened countlessly and because of that I have been able to learn many of life's lessons not to repeat the same fallible act. Because of grace I have made it my life's mission to look past people's faults so I can find the treasure that exists inside of them. Just like the football coach did; when you carry the torch of love into the 'cave' of the darkest heart, it provides light and hope for a brighter future. All of us have been hurt by someone else in our life, but its how we deal with that hurt that makes all the difference in the world. I hope all of us choose to rise above revenge and soar in love. In the movie Facing the Giants the head football coach said, "your attitude is like the aroma of your heart. If your attitude stinks it means your heart is not right." How is your attitude towards people when they prove their humaness and do wrong to you? You can tell the size of the person by the size of the things he/she can forgive! Great article Orrin! God Bless, Matt
