Welcome to my leadership blog. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree. No worries. The only rules are that you post under your own name and that you think and discuss in a civil manner. People who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. The Bible states, "Iron sharpens iron" and we will sharpen one another by what we read, write and think. The goal of this blog is to help us identify and follow truth in all areas of our lives. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and transform yourself and others through the renewing of our minds.
Re: Peter Schiff Analogies

Wow! He hits the nail on the head every time, as do you, Orrin. You know, it reminds me a bit of your post on Proverbs a few days ago, and the specific scripture you cited that "Wisdom cries from the streets..." I know it is tempting sometime for Christian believers in our country to tell themselves that in the endeavor to save souls, fiscal policy is not important. The reality is, proper financial management and a good understanding of entrepreneurship and business principles are incredibly relevant to Kingdom work. A man or woman who is in bondage to the thinking that "job security" and "credit" will provide for them and get them through hard times is an extremely difficult person to inspire to help others in their time of need because they are extremely busy living with the illusion that as Chris says that they are "doing pretty good." By the same token, a person who has discovered the falsehood of that belief via the rude awakening of a creditor's call and/or job loss has two choices - 1) to sit and blame or 2) to look for answers. As believers we understand that the reason economic policy such as Austrian economics works is BECAUSE of the fact that it agrees with the Biblical principles of "save and produce," "stay out of debt bondage," "work to eat," "bless others first, and you will be blessed," and "to whom much is given, much is required." As believers, when we run across those that are looking for solutions, we can confidently explain that Free enterprise, means your only "security" comes from God, and He is our sole creditor. He's also the ultimate regulator - by the way. What a great opportunity to minister to others that we serve the Author of the greatest Book on success principles EVER written! We do that by understanding and applying it, so that when people around us are faced with the outcome of the crash, we can do more than just say "Depart in peace, and be warmed and filled." Instead we can give them the things that are needed for the body and let them see our faith at work as the book of James says. I know that there are many venues currently that we can minister through, but none seems a more relevant tool right now then being able to help others in this area. Just as Ken Ham says "there is no war between 'science' and the Bible... the Bible is just the correct starting point" There is no conflict between business/proper fiscal management and the Bible either. The Bible is simply the right starting point and the foundation of the philosophy that works. Thank you for being such a tremendous leader to this point, when so many need it so badly. God Bless!
